Get wonderfully lost in Santorini

Does anybody need an introduction about the most famous/the superstar of all islands in Greece? Or is enough to say: multicolored cliffs soar out of a sea-drowned volcanic crater plus all those white and blue small buildings? 🙂 I think I got my point, right?

According to the U.S. News & World Report travel rankings: Santorini is #1 in Best Island Vacations and #1 as Best Greek Islands.

With the slogan “All you want is Greece“, the Greek Tourism Minister Harris Theocharis is welcoming the tourism season of 2021 since May 2021. During the winter, Santorini has been almost covid-free, with just a few confirmed cases in the course of a couple of months. Businesses that operate in the tourism sector need to preemptively test their staff weekly. So what makes you feel safer than this? #covidfree #awareness #healthfirst

The uniqueness of the place makes most of us put it on our bucket list.

In few words: North of the island – capital Fira with the well-known villages called Firostefani and Imerovigli; this part along with the exclusive village of Oia, attract most tourists. #sunsetsinoia

Then there is the elevated West Coast, the East Coast that is less known – has a more traditional island-holiday look and also, more affordable; the beaches are lined with black sand. And of course, the South part of the island with multicolored sand beaches, the most famous being the Red Beach.

Santorini is actually an year-round destination. When you are free, regardless of the season, you will always find breathtaking views here. And a lot of deals. However the best time to visit is: September to October and April to May. The rest of the time, expect it to be windy and sometimes rainy.

What is there to do? Go on cruises, get a wine & food tour, practice sea sports, land activities such as walking, biking, sightseeing, cultural & theme tours, visit ancient Thira and why not: luxury & special occasions – maybe you want to get married on the beach or arrive to Oia in an helicopter. #naturelovers #winelovers #foodlovers #photographers #history

Save 15% or more: find getaway deals on local and global stays until September 30!

And now let me introduce you to some of the accommodation in Santorini that I researched already and I find it attractive (location, prices, amenities):

Villa Danezis – got a 9.1 overall score, offers airport shuttle, it is a great location with great view and a nice, cozy place for two travelers. Also they do price match! Something new and interesting for me is that they offer free wifi hotspot on a laptop that is free to use and they got a 10/10 score for that. Plus: swimming pool.

Azalea Hotel – located on the black sandy beach of Kamari, is a family-run hotel, offers free wifi, airport shuttle and has a large swimming pool. Also: ree private parking and a plus – very good breakfast. Prices are very accessible and the overall score is 9.2/10.

Palm Studios – overall score 9.3/10, has beach front (30 m away from the beach bars, cafes and taverns), ocean view, is pet friendly and offers washing machine (if you guys want to bring only a backpack with you). Free wifi and parking. Couples rated it at 9.6/10. They price match!

Leonidas Apartments – 9.7/10 overall score, is located in the heart of Kamari, 200 m away from the Black Beach; offers airport shuttle services, you can have your own studio with kitchen and all equipment plus garden, terrace, AC and free wifi. What else to ask for, huh?

All nice and sweet, however there are also people interested in more ultimate Santorini summer homes, so I have a few options that you might like.

Ikia Kriton – old stone house built into the cliffs, 9.9/10 overall score, it’s usually not available, so hurry up! They also price match!

Anemi House & Villas – traditional Santorini cave house painted in pink, lilac and blue! 9.8/10, also price matching!

Solstice Luxury Suites – masterpiece of minimalist design and Greek island appeal. 9.7/10 with price match!

Cleo’s Dream Villa – right in the middle of the beautiful town Oia, super quiet location! 9.6/10 with price match!

I suggest 36 activities that might interest you, check them out.

Top rated restaurants in Santorini – La Maison, Metaxi Mas, Pelekanos in Oia, the Athenian House, Kapari Wine Bar. If you guys went there already and would like to give me a feedback, I’m more than happy to receive your messages. 🙂
