In search of vitamin D…ubai

Whatever you’d like to choose – visit, study, work or retire – you find your options in one of the most popular destinations at the moment – Dubai (United Arab Emirates).

Before you plan your trip to Dubai

Marhaba! (meaning Welcome!)

Dubai is unaffected by the turmoil taking place in other parts of the Middle East.

Taking into consideration your citizenship, you must find out before if you’re required to get a visa or what are the travel conditions before you plan the actual trip. For example, if I plan to travel from Romania, I don’t need to make any arrangements before, I can get the visa once I arrive at the airport (90 day-visa for traveling), I just need to make sure my passport is valid for more than 6 months. However, if I plan my trip from Serbia, I will need to get a visa before – the most common is the Tourist Visa with 30 days validity (single or multiple entries). So it is our responsibility to make sure we are well informed and have all the requested papers.

P.S. Dubai International Airport (DXB) is the first airport in the world to have resident DJs. Beyond this new DJ residency program, Dubai International Airport is pretty darn spectacular—in fact, it was voted the second-best airport in the world.

About Dubai

There’s nothing left from the 1833’s fishing settlement of Dubai, so imagine how things changed after oil is discovered in 1966… Last year there was the 50th year of the Union celebration and Expo 2020 started – a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you simply cannot miss.

Dubai’s vibrant culture consists of warm hospitality, rich culinary heritage, and proud traditions. The traditional attire is bold and distinctive, the national dress is a symbol of pride and identity. Regarding the culinary diversity, apart from the incredible dining options, the local cuisine stands out. Make sure you try: camel, dates (sweet fruits), shuwaa (slow-cooked lamb), kabsa (basmati rice and meat), and also drink some traditional Arabic coffee – gahwa or Karak chal – a mixed-spice tea.

Perfumery and henna body art are still very popular in Dubai to this day.

The best way to get around Dubai is by taxi or by metro. Although prices are high across the board in Dubai, a taxi here or there won’t break the bank. You can also rent a car at the airport or sort out your own transfers in advance. You’re welcome! 🙂
